Showcasing breweries, drinks companies and food producers from across Scotland, the event also bring new music to the fore. Two of the bands that played the first event in Inverness return to the stage; Lionel are fresh off an impressive EP launch at The Ironworks, Inverness and ,taking on headlining responsibilities, Daydream Frenzy.

Donald Barclay, singer and guitarist of the band, said: “I think any opportunity to play live to a new crowd of people is fantastic for us. We played at the Inverness festival last year and had a great time so we’re really looking forward to playing to a more local crowd and to bringing some great music to the festival.”

Also on the bill are indie popsters Best Girl Athlete aka Katie Buchan, who released her debut album ‘Carve Every Word’ earlier in March. They will be joined by the folk infused pop/rock of Colin Clyne, blues/rock band Strange Skies , acoustic singer Margaret Finlayson and DJ HomeAlone.

North Hop festival organiser, Michelle Russell, said: “I am overwhelmed at the response North Hop Aberdeen has received from the local area. We sold out in less than two weeks without even announcing the music line up for the festival, and I know that there’s going to be a few people who will be gutted about missing out with a strong line up like this.

Some of the acts will also be joining us in Inverness for the main North Hop festival in August, so I urge anyone who has unfortunately missed out on tickets for the Aberdeen festival to get their Inverness tickets as soon as possible, as they’re likely to go fast.”

Tickets for the Inverness festival are available via the North Hop website or by calling the booking office at Eden Court on 01463 234234.
