Full Fundraiser Line-up announced

The Highland Foodbank Fundraiser has announced a massive 18 act line-up for it’s two nights at Hootananny.

IMG_1126The line-up features a strong line-up of acts wanting to raise funds to provide food to the hungry of the area. Bands include Searching for Donkeys, off the back of their recent debut EP ‘Dirty Lunch’, Dorec-a-belle .who have had a busy old year with the launch of their album ‘Listen’ and are just back from playing Oran Mor, The Ragazzi, who stormed their headline slot at Yule Gig in December and Lionel, whose 2015 promises big things indeed.

Solo acts will see the likes of James Mackenzie who is working hard on his forthcoming full band EP, Douglas Scott who most recently supported Tweed, Topher Elliot and Iain Mclaughlin.

Highland Foodbank has been serving the Highland region, distributing food through our foodbank centre in Inverness or by supplying  partners with Emergency Food Boxes

The event has been put together by Steve Robertson (music programmer for Hootananny), Dan Tierney (Resident Mad Hatters DJ) & Barry MacFarlane (local musician) the same team that put together the successful Clutha Bar Fundraiser at Mad Hatters and The Bothy in January 2014.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
