Schnarff, HO!

Schnarff Schnarff and friends take on the Friday before Christmas.

At Easter time our reviewer observed; “Schnarff Schnarff are playing with the confidence of a band who know that they are going places”. In hindsight a fair projection! those “places” have included goNORTH, Wickerman, King Tut’s and Belladrum, mainstage, where else!!

Once  described as “[the] working man’s European rock outfit howls with the spirit of Springsteen and wails with the grit of Grohl”, Schnarff Schnarff drew attention with their track “Urghhh”. This was followed up by their EP which was released by Electric Honey records, earlier this year. It is perhaps no surprise that they have collected fans along the way including Vic Galloway, Huw Stephens and Edith Bowman.

It is perhaps no surprise that the band are returning to headline the Ironworks, given the response that they have received when they have played on their last two appearances at Easter and a few weeks later as part of the goNORTH showcase.

The night will also see Dunfermline based four-piece alternative indie folk post rock outfit, Foreignfox joined by local boys Searching for Donkeys, whose summer time adventures have included a Belladrum slot and supporting The View. The icing on the ,festive, cake come from Indieness, Inverness’s Indie/Alternative club night, who will ensure the party continues through to the early hours.

Tickets are available via www.IronworksVenue.com from Friday the 5th of September.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
