With Jocktoberfest coming in the first weekend of September, and featuring an array of talent including Michael Cassidy, Chris Devotion and the Expectation and The Black Arrows, the event at Mad Hatters will provide a perfect warm up for the festival.

Jocktaster will feature a couple of the bands on the bill for the festival, Dante and The Whiskys (with more to be announced). Edinburgh based, Dante whose tunes were described by our reviewer as “The music itself goes through mood swings, one minute they were treating us to dark and brooding music, the next we were involved in the liveliest ceilidh in town.”.

The Whiskys return from a quiet spell that sees them being announced for Belladrum (again their ‘unplugged’ format),supporting Iain Mclaughlin and the Outsiders in September and most recently announced as support for The Levellers in Wick later this month.

Jocktaster is free entry. Tickets for Jocktoberfest (to be held on the 5th and 6th of September) are priced at £30.00 (free entry for under 13s) and available via www.jocktoberfest.com.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
