Hootananny, Inverness is to host a two night event to raise funds for the Clutha Appeal Fund on the 3rd and 4th of January 2013.

The event is bringing together all elements of the musical community and the current lineup (although this may change) includes; Toby Michaels Rolling Damned, Searching For Donkeys, Ashley and the Cosmonauts, Sara Bills & The Hasbeens, The Mystic Shoes, Dylan Tierney, Jemma Tweedie, The Ragazzi, Naked Red, Emma Mitchell, Furry Vengeance, Dr. Wook, MIR, Dougie Burns, Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders, Alan Turner, Silver Coast, Neon Knights, Douglas Scott and Craig Robertson.

One of the posters on the Facebook event page poignantly commented;

“As a Clutha customer, this brought a real smile to my face. I lived in Inverness for 15 years, and started going to the Clutha when I returned to Glasgow in 1999. All of us regular and occasional visitors have been left stunned by Friday’s tragedy, as has much of Scotland I think. Big thanks from the Weegies to the Sneckies x x”

Doors open for the Clutha Fundraiser at 8pm on both nights, entry is by donation (minimum £3)

Up to date details of the event can be found the Facebook event page.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene.In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
