As we move into winter it is always good to hear of a festival announcement to give us hope of those brighter, and hopefully warmer days ahead. Now in it’s third year, Brew At The Bog 2014 has always championed the best in new Scottish, and further afield, music.
This year is no exception as they greet some returning friends and new faces to Bogbain Farm. It wouldn’t be Brew At The Bog without Vic Galloway and Ally McCrae hosting and it’s great to hear that they will be returning for a third year.

One of the stand out musical moments of this year was the Olive Grove Records night at Bogbain Farm back in March and from that night Jo Mango and Randolph’s Leap make a most welcome return. Also appearing are their stablemates’ Call To Mind and Woodenbox.
Coming back from appearances in the inaugural year are Beerjacket, Miss Irenie Rose and the irrepressible Stanley Odd. Fresh from last year Fake Major, The Silent Forest, Bronagh & the Boys and the genius that is Shambles Miller make a quick return. Meanwhile, festival stalwarts The Little Kicks make it three in a row!
In this initial raft of acts are a great bunch of newbies including Kid Canaveral, Atom Tree, Finn Lemarinel, The Broken Ravens, Roman Nose, Shiverin’ Sheiks, Friends in America, Wild SunKill The Waves and Have Mercy Las Vegas.
Bringing local interest are Inverness’ band of the moment Searching For Donkeys. Fresh from winning their support slot with Simple Minds at the Hogmanay party in Stonehaven, the lads have ended the year on a high. Also, returning is a rejuvenated James Mackenzie in his new guise as Love Civilian. James’s recent travels to Glasgow has seen him return with a new energy and invigorated set.
And we’re not just promised great music but great beer from Brewdog, and this year we have a guest beer bar including Cromarty Brewing and Mikkeller. So it’s music, beer and a whole lot more!
Tickets are £29 and on sale from Ironworks, Highland Bottle Shop, and Creative Skate in Inverness and also available on line.
