Dorec-a-belle (Maryann, Liza, Bev and Imke ) recently wan the opportunity to share billing with the likes of Chic Feat. Nile Rodgers and Amy MacDonald after coming first in the  Sunday Herald’s National Unsigned Band Competition. The band are no strangers to festivals having previously  played Celtic Connections and Belladrum as well as supporting The Staves, however this will be their first main stage appearance.

The band commented “[we] are hugely excited about playing this renowned festival and getting the chance to catch bands like Primal Scream and the burning of the Wicker Man, but are also looking forward to hooking up with fellow local bands who will be there on the goNorth stage.”

After the appearance they will be returning to Belladrum and can be found playing through out the site over the weekend.

You can also catch Dorec-a-belle in the Market Bar on Friday 30th August and then at the Black Isle Brewery’s fabulous Jocktoberfest on Saturday 7th September.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
