Davy Cowan launches his third solo album, ‘Working Man’s Dream’, at Belladrum 2013.

Davy Cowan as his website declares is a “Singer, Songwriter, Guitar Slinger, Troubadour, Song & Dance Man” who is very much part of the history of the local music scene, his first band The Yobs having been formed when he was in school. .It’s fair to say that his music has evolved over time, although some of the influences are still very pertinent to his music.
The new album, which is the follow up to 2011 release ‘The Journey’ , is produced by Martin Stephenson from The Daintees. The album promises to have “ hints of 1977 New wave/ post punk tinged with Country, Folk/ Roots, there’s plenty of light & shade. Sometimes quite mellow & plaintive, sometimes more edgy & rugged. Like, The Cars meets The Clash with a twist of Scott Walker meets Cash… “.
It seems appropriate for Davy to be launching the album at Belladrum given that he has been a regular performer at the festival for many years.
