Ross McEwen updates us on his recent accident and ROADWAY plans.
Most people reading this article will be aware that Ross McEwen and Bod Elder were involved in a very serious accident in May. The accident, which occurred just over a month ago, happened while Ross McEwen and Bod Elder driving home from the final writing session for the new ROADWAY CD in Glasgow. Recording of the EP has been delayed although it has allowed more time to finish off the planned material and of course recovery, with Ross requiring a period of rehabilitation.
Ross said “In light of what happened, and the fact that both Bod and I were lucky to make it out of that crash alive, one thing I want to work very hard towards for the foreseeable future is recording, getting as much of my material recorded and released.”
The focus of Ross’s attention at the moment is the new ROADWAY EP which will be another 5/6 track CD is due out in 2013. The sound is promising to retain the rock sound with a bit more of a modern twist with loud guitars, terrifyingly massive sounding drums and catchy hooks and top grade vocals. Ross describes it as “more modern, heavier, sleazier, a bit more mature and much louder.”
Also on the agenda, for Ross, is a solo CD which has been an ambition of his for some time. Ross is promising a range of guest singers from the rock genre and more guitar work from Ross than he has done in previous recordings.
The last words have to go to Ross:
“Despite being house bound, in a lot of pain, a grim near future in terms of walking and a long recovery….one can’t stay still for too long in the music industry. Lots to come, lots to get done, and hopefully you’ll all enjoy the finished product when I have it.”
