A cracking line-up for Raigmore Motel gig on the 29th of June.

Announced a good wee while, but to our shame we have not got round to writing about it, a fundraiser has been announced at Raigmore Hospital with proceeds going to Alzheimer Scotland.

The line-up will see The Leonard Jones Potential’s first full gig of the year (following a little bit of recent busking). The band have been relatively (ok, very) quiet of late following a 2011 that saw the band garnering support from Craig Charles:

“The singer’s brilliant, she’s got a fantastic voice! I tell you what though; they can get a party started! It’s classic, legendary, deep funk with banging bass, deep drums and a real raw element to it. When you hear it you think they sound like 1960s Detroit but they’re fuckin’ Highlanders they are!”

They will be joined by Sharp Exit. the unashamed covers band, playing tracks from Adele to Pink Floyd, Ashley and the Cosmonauts, fresh from their exploits at The Insider 2012, Sara Bills & The Hasbeens and “quirky duo” Simon and Dale.

Tickets are priced at £5 and are available from Raigmore Motel, Hung and on the door (although this is not guaranteed). The events page is here.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
