Kassidy come to Belladrum

“It’s fairly safe to say that (Kassidy)  isn’t your average Glaswegian band. They take their cues from across the pond, and the past. But thanks to the likes of Fleet Foxes and Mumford & Sons, that’s the fashionable attitude right now”, claims Mike Haydock (full review here).

This certainly is no truer than in the Highlands of Scotland, Kassidy are hot property at the moment so when Frankie Boy managed to track down Saturday Hothouse headliners for a chat.:

FB: You were at Belladrum last year. What memories did you take home with

you?

K: Walking on stage to a full tent was a fantastic feeling.

FB: Having played a very popular set at T in the Park this year, you all took

the time to enjoy the rest of the festival. Will you be around the site

at Bella this year? If so, what acts are you looking out for?

K: We are looking forward to checking out Woodenbox, C.W. Stoneking and Eli Paperboy Reid, hope we can hang about for them

FB: You appear to be really enjoying the festival season. How does it compare

to a traditional tour?

K: Its very different, both are amazing fun, and its hard to choose what we prefer more but they are both amazing, and as long as we are playing anywhere its always going to be fun

FB: You keep a high profile online. Is this a necessity today to keep in

touch with fans?

K: Its easy to keep in contact with fans, its great to get to

know everyone out there, and know them on a more personal level

FB: How much did your gig at the Ironworks, and the success of your tour,

earlier this year go towards you being rewarded with the headline slot at

Bella?

K: I have no idea, it was a surprise to be asked to play and we will

make it special.

FB: All publicity is good publicity (so they say!), and with recent press

coverage focusing on Lewis and his lookalike Giorgios Samaras, are any of

the other band members considered to have lookalikes too?

K: Usually anyone with long hair alot of people think we look like.

FB: Finally, what are your plans for the rest of the year after Bella?

K: Few more festivals then some shows in December.

Kassidy headline the Hothouse Stage on Saturday 6 August, and can also be seen at the Ironworks on 14 December as part of their tour.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
