The Whisky River Band have been a little quiet for a while, so we are looking forward to hearing them play again. Kris from The Whisky River Band was able to tell us about what has been happening and about the forthcoming gigs.
You guys have had a little bit of a break over the summer, what are you looking forward to most about returning to gigging?
We had a month off from gigging to rehearse for our up and coming gigs in august which we really cant wait for. I think the thing we are looking forward to most is playing the festivals this year as we are extremely grateful to be are part of them.
With Belladrum and B-Fest looming, is there anything different in planning and performing a set for a festival appearance?
We don’t really do much planning in regards of a set, we just want to get on stage and tear it up in true whisky fashion and give our fans and people who have never seen us a great show.
Is there any bands that you are looking forward to seeing at any of the Festivals you are playing?
Yeah there a lots of bands we will be trying to see, that’s the beauty of the likes of Belladrum as they are so diverse so to name a few, Kassidy, C.W Stoneking, Admiral Fallow, LJP and of course our good friends The Boosts but we rattle off the whole line up as there’s so much talent going to be there
Of course there is the forthcoming Summer Showcase as well, how does it feel playing the Ironworks and to be part of a thriving music scene?
The Summer Showcase is such a great platform for all the bands to show folk how good and diverse the local scene is, so we are really looking forward to playing that one too.
Finally why should folk come and see you?
Cause they just should!!!
You can catch The Whisky River Band at Belladrum on Saturday 6th at 5.15pm, The Summer Showcase on the 11th of August at the Ironworks and B-Fest on the 20th of August.
