A combination of well established acts take to the stage for the second Summer Showcase, which offers a great opportunity to get to know and support your local bands a bit more.
The Ball Deep – Six Pound Tracey (new version) by theballdeep
Swamp Radio are 4 local lads “ highly energetic prog influenced band into old school rock riffs”, who are into their fourth year of gigging in the area. A good opportunity to catch the band, who has had a fairly low profile of late.
Finally there is Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders, whose blend of emotion with indie style creates an intense and rewarding listen without falling into the trap of clichéd ballads, have continued to consolidate and build on successes. We last saw them at Rockness and they certainly appeared to be the band that people sung along with (out of those that we saw in the big small orange tent). Certainly with Rockness under their belt and another 4 festival appearances looming, it might be easy to take the band for granted, but the impressive and emotive live show are always impressive.
The next Summer Showcase is on the 21st of July at the Ironworks, doors at 730pm with entry being £3
