Mumford and Sons in Inverness

Late this morning we got word that something special was being planned for Falcon Square, Inverness. Mumford and Sons were indeed planning a visit to the centre of Inverness for 4pm. The weather was not on their side, it did delay their appearance by over an hour, but could not would not and ultimately did not dampen the moods of the awaiting crowd. There was around 4-500 hundred present (although difficult to estimate given the way the  crowd formed) huddled around an old van.

A short set of three songs (including Little Lion Man, Sigh No More) played acoustically helped by the great sound of the van being stomped on. A little banter (again about rugby!) and thanking the crowd for them braving the weather and they were gone. Oh but before they did Marcus did say “ See you again soon” , we hope that is this is true as they have rewarded their loyal fans and earned new ones along the way, another visit would not go amiss

A special word of thanks need to go once again to some one who managed to get the following photographs that are quite simply sensational, we have done this before but will do it again, please visit his site and befriend him on Facebook

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
